Abstract :
A new antenna suitable for cognitive radio system is proposed. The structure of the antenna is composed of an ultra wide band (UWB) sensing antenna, and a frequency reconfigurable communicating antenna. It has a capability to operate in wide band (2.4-12GHz) and three narrow bands (band I: 3.05-3.8GHz, band II: 2.35-2.98 GHz, 4.3-4.5GHz and band III: 1.45-2.18GHz). Three switches are used to control the antenna working at different narrow band.
