  • Abstract
A novel frequency allocation scheme based on PDF/PMF functions of random variables is proposed in this paper, which is capable of adjusting the balance between long term fairness and performance in Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR) aided Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) networks. By adjusting the parameters of PDF/PMF functions the presented scheme achieves a flexible adjustment between user-fairness and cell-throughput. Simulation results indicate that compared to the Proportional Fairness (PF) allocation and equal rate allocation (ERA), the proposed scheme has significant performance advantage when the values of parameters are appropriate, and also has continuous controllability between ERA and maximum rate allocation (MRA).
