Abstract
This paper presented an alternative approach of organizing a seminar course in the Master degree level. Instead of organizing in-house practice sessions to develop basic research skills, students were required to attend workshops and seminars that developed research skills as well as others events of their own choices to acquire life-long learning habit. The assessment and evaluation emphasized the reflection and attitudes, leaving the repeated practices and skill refinement to thesis advisors. The first implementation seemed to be satisfactory concerning the motivation with some reservation on the outcome of individual skill development.
