Abstract :
Creative problem solving is one of the most important issues in education. Among the problems requiring creativity, contradiction problems are difficult to solve. Many historical innovations solved contradiction of the problems. However, contradiction has been treated as false or not feasible. We perform the logical interpretation about contradiction problems with the Butterfly model for automation. We classify the types of contradiction relationships and find the problem solving objectives and the solution strategies for the problems. The contribution of this paper lies in solution space reduction by providing new algorithms that recognize the structures and the types of contradiction problems.
