Abstract :
The paper presents notable trends in Ant-based algorithms, which are derived from the biological phenomena of swarm intelligence and social insects. Swarm Intelligence is the collective behavior of self-organizing, decentralized natural/artificial systems viz. flock of birds, ants, bees, school of fish and is organized into Bio-inspired networking: these are the techniques based on biological phenomena which are used for efficient and scalable routing. Ant Colony Optimization and Antlike mobile agents are used in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) which include mobile devices viz. cell phones, laptops, forming an infrastructure-independent network communicating through a wireless connection.
