Abstract
Spectrum sensing process is an important task that should be completed in real-time constraints for Cognitive Radio Network (CRN). The traditional techniques have several pitfalls in processing the real-time input signal faded and attenuated in channel. In this paper we propose the robustness of Wavelet transform based sensing technique in processing the input signal under AWGN noise and Rician distributed fading conditions. The properties of Wavelet Transform such as compression of signal coefficients, edge detection and so on, makes fast sensing and more accurate detection of spectrum holes (even at low SNR value) than traditional techniques of sensing. The simulation results show the effect of varying SNR on probability of detection of incoming signal and hence verify the robustness of technique.
