Abstract :
Experimental measurements of charge transient current in polyimide (Kapton) films at fields between 24 and 64 MV/m and temperatures ranging from 100°C to 180°C, have shown an anomalous behavior at high temperatures. Many mechanisms have been proposed with a view to explain results; dipolar polarization, homocharge injection, interfacial polarization etc. as well as a combination of these. An empirical formula, taking into account these different mechanisms, gives a good agreement with experimental results
