Abstract :
This paper presents the characteristics of partial discharge activity in oil-impregnated insulation under different test voltage frequencies and oil contamination. The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effect of the voltage frequency variation in accelerating the deterioration of this particular insulation. The test results indicate that, for the conditions tested, there is not a linear scaling of the current, power and the repetition rate of the discharges, which may require some re-assessment of the aging determination for such configurations
