Abstract :
In order to monitor the turnover of ladle and save the energy consumption in the steel-making plant, ladle monitor system was developed. The distance of vehicles (including crane and trolley) transporting ladles is measured and some auxiliary judgment rules are combined to realize the real-time monitor of ladle position and thermal state. The practice shows that this system can obtain the accurate position of ladle so as to determine the accurate thermal state, which can be used to define the accurate temperature compensation for tapping. The tapping temperature of molten steel was averagely decreased by 11.20°C.
