Abstract :
In the process of layout optimization, it is needed to deal with nets through the image of CIF layout. But there has not any tool to extract image layout from CIF layout. According to actual integrated circuit (IC) layout characteristics, this paper proposes a new algorithm to extract image layout from CIF layout based on sliding window. With the sliding window, new algorithm solves the problem of the existing algorithms failed to realize the extraction on large CIF layout. Before processing the data, this algorithm gives a judgment model of positional relation between basic primitives and sliding window. Through the data selection, this judgment model can effectively improve the extraction efficiency of the new algorithm. Moreover, the greater CIF layout is, the more obvious the improvement in time complexity will be. Experiments on synthesized OpenSPARC layout show that new extraction algorithm performs well compared with the existing algorithms. The results lay a strong foundation for accurate layout optimization.
