Abstract :
Channel capacity has been greatest challenge for the researchers in the field of wireless communication. Capacity analysis and its improvement have been proposed under various scenarios. However, most of them are based on conventional PDF based techniques, some times which render very complex analysis. Analysis becomes more difficult when diversity combining is used for performance improvement. Keeping the above fact in mind in this paper, we have analyzed the capacity of a channel by using the maximal-ratio combing (MRC) diversity scheme over Generalized-G fading channels. Moreover, we have used moment generating function (MGF) based approach to overcome complexity. Using the MGF of Generalized G fading distribution, we have derived closed form expression for channel capacity under MRC schemes. Also, we have compared our results with the related results available in the literature, which shows perfect agreement.
