Abstract
The paper presents results of stability investigation at taking into account arc resistance in high-voltage circuit-breakers at the computer simulation of switching-offs power capacitor banks and no-load transformers in electric power systems. Influence of taking arc resistance into account on stability of transitional functions at use different simulation methods (ode solvers) for wide ranges of initial step sizes and tolerances is considered in the paper. Conclusions on expediency of use the different solvers from the point of view stability of solutions are done. It is shown in the paper that possible a priori prediction on improvement of stability at taking into account arc resistance which is a dissipative factor is not quite obvious.
