Abstract :
The continuous development and modernization of CLP Power´s electricity supply system gives rise to various operation applications, which demand for high-speed communications infrastructure to maintain the tremendous amount of signal transmissions. In this context, the Company´s in-house telecommunication networks must be continuously upgraded with respect to capacity, accessibility, security and transmission quality to ensure the present and future needs of the Company are fulfilled. With the emerging technologies for power monitoring & control applications, such as Supervisory and Data Acquisition System (SCADA), protection signalling, process control and substation automation, a reliable and scalable communications infrastructure based on the Internet Protocol (D?) is becoming predominate in the development journey of the new era Smart Grid in power industry.
