Abstract :
The negative interaction between AC and DC voltage controls of the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) has attracted much attention, and new control models and strategies need to be developed. This paper proposes a new solution based on differential game theory to solve the negative interaction problem between AC voltage controller and DC voltage controller in the STATCOM. The types of differential games, feedback differential game model and its solution are introduced first. Then based on the mathematical model of single machine infinite system with STATCOM, a new cooperative control scheme of STATCOM using differential game theory is proposed. The effectiveness of the new control models and algorithms are validated by simulations with MATLAB/Simulink, and the advantages of the proposed cooperative control over other control methods have been proved by the simulation results.
