Abstract :
In the actual operation of distribution grid with DG, the traditional islanding protection methods do not consider the requirement of low voltage ride through (LVRT) and the cooperation of recloser control. Therefore, the paper proposes a novel islanding protection scheme. Using the position information of the related circuit breakers and the electrical information of PCC of DG, a new islanding detection criterion is constructed. Moreover, the proposed scheme considers the characteristics of low voltage ride through of DG and the recloser control. For the typical connection modes of DG, the corresponding simulation models are built using PSCAD. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme is valid and feasible.
