Abstract
In this study, event-related potential (ERP) components of P300 and N100, and an artificial neural network (ANN) were used to classify the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals which are generated by the brain. A visual stimulus flicker program was also made to elicit ERP responses as an oddball paradigm. We measured ERP responses using the stimulus flicker, performed calculations of the ERP components (P300 and N100), and classified the ERP data using the learned ANN. The experimental results showed that we could obtain more than 95 % of rates of the correctly classified direction for trigger signals of upward, downward, leftward, and rightward movements of a mouse device.
