Abstract
In this paper, a finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method based on the scattered-field formulation in a polar coordinate system is applied to an electromagnetic scattering problem for a plasmonic matematerial structure supporting spoof localized surface plasmons in the terahertz region. The structure is a periodically textured perfectly electric conductor cylinder. In numerical examples, time domain simulation results with the presented FDTD method are compared with frequency domain results with a method of moments (MoM) and an analytical solution based on the metamaterial approximation.
