Abstract :
This paper studies the performances of a 60 GHz impulse transceiver based on a Multi-Band On-Off Keying modulation. The transceiver throughput is evaluated in the 802.11.ad channel standard; the cases of a Line-Of-Sight scenario of a living room and conference room are carried out. The channel model is modified to incorporate a very compact transceiver dedicated antenna. Results show the interest of the architecture in term of throughput, in spite of the important multipath effect induced by antenna radiation characteristics, or a data rate upper than 1 Gbps is guaranteed up to 3 m in a living room and almost 2 m in a conference room. Also, the system is expected to be very compact and low-consuming which make it a very promising solution for handheld applications.
