Abstract :
Doppler radar has been proven effective in many applications in physiological monitoring field, including rate extraction and displacement estimation. Its measurement accuracy is associated with chest wall mechanics. Thus accurate modeling of respiratory motion is important for Doppler radar vital sign detection. In this paper, a probing angle compensation method is proposed to match Doppler radar orientation to the direction of maximum expected chest expansion. Experimental data proves the effectiveness of probing angle concept in Doppler radar vital sign detection.
