Abstract :
We present the use of radio markers for a lane-keeping support system. This system allows safe driving even in blizzards or thick fog. In this system, we use the 429MHz band and 1.2GHz band specified low power radio devices to reduce power consumptions. We measured the packet error rate and receive signal level under snowy conditions, and we obtained packet error rate of 0% and 100m transmission range with the snow thickness of 1.5m and the output power of 1mW. Also when plural radio markers exist, the vehicle receives signals from the nearest radio marker.
