Abstract
This paper describes a new reduced port method to obtain the scattering matrix of a three-port reciprocal network from a set of one-port measurements. By introducing two auxiliary circuits, all the nine scattering parameters could be determined without ambiguity. The experiment results of measuring a three-port reciprocal circuit using this method are shown in good agreement with those directly measured using a four-port vector network analyzer.
