Abstract :
To accommodate multistandard wireless communications, energy-efficient concurrent dual-band transmitter, related digital predistortion (DPD) methods as well as crest factor reduction (CFR) will be investigated in this paper. For efficiency enhancement in dual-band power amplifiers (PAs), an inter-modulation tuning (IM-Tuning) technique is employed in dual-band concurrent Doherty PA design. To reduce the complexity of conventional two dimensional DPD (2D-DPD) model, an error variation ranking-based (EVR) pruning method is proposed and demonstrated for dual band applicaiton. Finally, a two dimensional crest factor reduction (2D-CFR) algorithm will be studied to improve the output power and linearity simutanesouly.
