Abstract :
In this paper, a planar, linear-polarized antenna with electronic controllable angle of orientation is presented. A steerable range of over 75° is achieved by exploiting the large power dividing ratio of a tunable rat-race coupler. The proposed design features compact size, simple control method, potentially wide band and low cost. For experimental demonstration, the simulated and measured results of a 2.45-GHz tunable linear-polarized antenna implemented on microstrip are provided.
