Abstract :
This paper presents and discusses dynamic properties of electromagnetic fields caused by an air-discharge ESD event occurred between a metallic spheroidal object and a flat metal plane. The analysis is done with a recently proposed FDTD-SPICE direct linking solver, which simultaneously solves a full-wave model for structures of analytical objects and SPICE equivalent circuit models including nonlinear lumped elements based on spark resistance formulae. The Rompe-Weizel formula is used in order to take into account transient influences of a spark channel. Time domain simulation results of electric and magnetic fields, and Poynting vector are demonstrated.
