Abstract :
In this paper, a high-gain and wideband mushroom antenna with wideband low radar cross section (RCS) is presented. The band-stop frequency selective surface (FSS) is designed at the antenna operating frequency so that the antenna can reduce out-of-band frequency RCS while maintaining a high gain. The mushroom structure is resonant at the antenna operating frequency and the in-band frequency RCS can be reduced significantly. As a result, a wideband RCS reduction can be achieved both in and out of antenna operating frequency band. The results show that the RCS of the proposed antenna is dramatically reduced in the frequency range from 2GHz to 18GHz, compared with the traditional patch antenna.
