Abstract :
Based on the view point of weakpoint, a statistical approach on understanding the electrical breakdown of vacuum gaps is put forward. The accumulated probability of breakdown is theoretically deduced. The “area effect” of vacuum breakdown is quantitatively described on the aspect of this approach
