Abstract :
A hand held imager has been developed for the evaluation of 2 dimensional infrared detector arrays in the field. This unit is capable of operation with a variety of detector configurations, and has been demonstrated in operation with a 3-5μm 64×64 element CMT IRCCD. In this configuration, outstanding thermal sensitivity has been achieved. The imager offers many additional features including automatic calibration and nonuniformity removal, automatic SiTF monitoring and control, and frame averaging for improved thermal resolution
