  • Abstract
The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is one of the most important quantities in assessing the performances of infrared systems. The purpose of the work described is to compute this factor for several configurations of a scanning infrared charge-coupled device (IRCCD) and to give prominence to its dependence on optics, detector geometry and scan motion parameters. This task has been accomplished by a computer simulating the blur spot scan motion on the focal plane and by taking the average of the energy integrated by a given detector over all the possible displacements of the PSF which maximize the signal on that detector
