Abstract :
EDF has a constant concern for offering a quality of voltage supply suited to the customer´s needs, while controlling the costs of equipment installed on the network. In the context of the energy market deregulation in Europe, EDF wants to use its knowhow to develop new services to its industrial customers. The aim of this paper is to present an example of a statistical and reliability study that was done by EDF research & developpement (EDF R&D) and University of Paris South on the cokeworks electrical network of steel manufacturer SOLLAC in France (ARCELOR Company, site located in southern of France, is a major electricity client of EDF). The electrical network is from 225 kV, 63 kV, 20 kV to 5.5 kV. The energy consumption of this manufacturer is about 140 MW and then it produces 4.5 Millions of tons of steel per year
