  • Abstract
    The cumulative data by bridge management system (BMS) is helpful for decision making for bridge maintenance measure. According to the current state of municipal bridges, the design of system development of Sihui BMS (SH-BMS) is discussed in this paper. The network design based on browser/server (B/S) paradigm is presented and major operational functions integrated four modules with flowchart of operation are proposed herein. Then, the selection principle of database management system is discussed and Microsoft SQL sever is employed for the design of database. According to the requirements of database system, 12 tables are built and fields within it are defined as required. Triggers are used in database management to maintain the integrity of data and realize data real time updating across tables.
