Abstract :
For multiuser data signals the minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) estimation using an array of antennas is analyzed for binary, synchronous direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. The receiver consists of an array of beamformers followed by a bank of matched filters and the MMSE multiuser detector (MUD). The performance of the space-time MMSE is investigated over both the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel, and the flat Rayleigh fading channel. Digital computer simulations are used in the paper to confirm the validity of the approximations used in the analysis to determine the system bit error rate
