Abstract :
Wideband CDMA system capacity is studied at relatively high rate circuit-switched data services. Capacity is evaluated analytically against the conditional outage criterion. The probability of outage varies depending on the cellular interference geometry, propagation parameters, carrier-to-interference ratio target, traffic load and power control accuracy. Fenton-Wilkinson (1960) and Schwartz-Yeh (1982) lognormal sum approximations are used in multiuser interference modeling. Either single-code or multicode techniques can be used to generate high rate data services. Results show a wide span in capacity for a given outage criterion depending on the variability of the key system parameters
