Abstract :
This work further elaborates on recent published results according to which the complete velocity vector of a moving target is inferred from a single Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensor. It is shown that the returned echo of a moving object, in the slow-time frequency domain is a replica of the antenna radiation pattern scaled by a factor proportional to the target cross-range speed, and shifted by a quantity proportional to the moving object slant-range speed. The velocity vector is estimated using a Bayesian approach. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated with a set of experiments.
