  • Abstract
Although the initial discharge lamps and high pressure were primarily intended for domestic and public lighting, they are currently used in various industrial applications such as water treatment. The effectiveness of this technology is directly related to the amount of UV radiation received by the bacteria contained therein. UV radiation destroys these common bacteria by disrupting their ability to reproduce. Controlling the spectral distribution is considered energetic main parameter affecting the flexibility and quality of the product radiation. However, although the lamp characteristics have an important impact on the spectral distribution of radiation power conditions can not be neglected. The work presented focus on the experimental study of the influence of pulsed power ultraviolet radiation emitted by a low-pressure mercury lamp-argon method. To achieve this, an experimental device has been developed. Flow integrator comprising two chains spectrophotometric measurement (UV cell and CCD camera) and a pulsed power supply for driving the lamp with current pulses.
