Abstract :
AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure) handles metering data. Since it transmits private data, security of network is essential. In this paper, DLMS/COSEM and ANSI C12.22, the most popular smart metering standards, was surveyed for their security features. And security features of Data Link Layer protocols that can go under the mentioned standard´s protocol was surveyed. And based on recommendation in RFC 6142, appropriate security feature of Application layer was mapped for each Layer 2 protocols.
