Abstract :
In this paper, a new design of a reconfigurable miniaturized planar antenna suitable for mobile handheld standard applications is presented. The proposed antenna is designed on a FR4 substrate with a relatively permittivity of 4.4, a thickness of 1.56mm and a loss tangent of 0.02. And its dimension is 18 mm × 80 mm2. This dimension is so reduced compared with the size of the DVB antennas, a portion of monopoly loaded and connected by three empty holes at the opposite side of the substrate, by inserting tunable inductance on the monopoly we can get a frequency reconfigurability and the antenna operates well in the DVB-H band (470-860) MHz and for some inductance value it can operate in the GSM 800 and GSM 900 band.
