Abstract :
Microwave hyperthermia demonstrated its efficiency in several domains of medicine [1-6]. However this method has several limitations which can damage the healthy neighborhood. To increase the potential of this method and to avoid this problem, we suggest to create a special area consisting of the tumor injected by the lossy and nontoxic dielectric material: the recinoleic acid oil which has many advantages [7]. In this paper, we present a theoretical approach to demonstrate the advantage of using a lossy material with high dielectric losses in order to increase the temperature of the cancerous cells only. This approach is confirmed by measurements of the complex dielectric permittivity for recinoleic acid oil and for water in a large band of frequency [50 MHz-10 GHz]. Finally, we compare the results and conclude.
