Abstract :
This paper presents numerical study of ultrawideband (UWB) patch antenna using both the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method and Ansoft HFSS Software. The patch antenna, which consists of a rectangular monopole, is fed by microstrip line and operates from 3 to 10.9 GHz, covering the UWB frequency band. The numerical results, obtained from computed FDTD model and HFSS simulation, are given and compared in terms of reflection coefficients and radiation patterns, and show good agreements.
