Abstract :
A design method for the balanced Composite Righ-/Left-Handed (CRLH) is proposed and validated numerically. The method is developed for a CRLH equivalent circuit which takes into account the resonance frequency of the series capacitors, while the parallel resonator is specified by its admittance which may be particularized for any practical implementation. Numerical results are presented for three topologies of the parallel resonator: fully-distributed, semi-lumped and fully-lumped. Free design parameters are defined and their influence upon the other circuit parameters is discussed.
