Abstract :
An adaptive control problem is addressed for systems with actuator failures, with a focus on output tracking. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for parametrization and output matching. Compared with state tracking, the matching conditions for output tracking are less restrictive so that adaptive actuator failure compensation control can be applied to a larger class of systems with unknown dynamics parameters as well as unknown actuator failure parameters. Such an adaptive design is presented and its performance is verified by simulation results
