Abstract :
We demonstrate enhanced soliton transmission control over global distances. A stream of clock pulses can be used to retime (shepherd) high-speed soliton data via a nonlinear interaction in a length of transmission fibre. This simple technique has applications in high capacity long haul soliton links and recirculating loop soliton memories
