Abstract
In high performance space applications where cost, size, weight, ease of installation are constraints, low profile antennas are required. In conjunction with this if the antenna is designed as reconfigurable antenna then it will be able to switch among different frequencies. A multiband band E-Shaped has been designed to operate at two frequencies for the Satellite communication based on Cognitive radio technology. The antenna designed for multiband operation is accomplished using varactorss diodes working as a Radio Frequency (RF) switches. The designed antenna is tunable over two frequencies. A reconfigurable E-shaped antenna is designed on substrate and coaxial probe is used to feed the substrate. Simulations are done using HFSS software and MATLAB.
