Abstract
We have studied the problem of cost per call arrival from the following two perspectives in WiMAX network: Location Management Problem and Placement of Relay Station Problem. In location management problem, we investigated the application of nature inspired techniques like GA, ABC and AIS for an optimization of cost per call arrival in WiMAX networks. Result obtained from all these nature inspired techniques are compared and analysed. In all these nature inspired techniques, performance depends on the population size. Results of the experiments show that GA, ABC and AIS can be effectively implemented for location management scheme. ABC show better performance in terms of optimal value of cost per call arrival and AIS takes less computational time to locate the optimal solution in the network.
