Abstract
To minimize power losses, it is important to determine the optimal location and size of Distributed Generation (DG) to be placed in distribution system. Inappropriate location and size may lead to increase the system losses and bad effect on voltage profile. This paper proposes a method for finding optimal size and location of DG for loss reduction in unbalanced radial distribution network (URDN). In this paper, the impact of seasonal (summer) load variation with ZIP load model is considered. ZIP load model consists of residential, industrial and commercial has been considered for study of test system. The proposed technique has been tested on 25 bus URDN.
