Abstract :
How to extend the lifetime of the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a hot issue to be researched since the sensor node´s energy is limited. LEACH is a famous clustering algorithm to balance the node energy consumption in WSN. The distributions of the energy consumption for various scenarios in LEACH are analyzed in this paper. And the main reasons are found that leading to the asymmetry of the energy consumption among nodes. According to the characteristics of energy consumption, we presented an improved LEACH, which can effectively balance each node´s load and improve the network lifetime.
