Abstract :
Results for designing a digital variable structure control system (VSCS) are presented. Note that for such a digital system, the switching surface is replaced by a pseudo-sliding region. It is shown that the addition of data converters to a discrete time VSCS may result in an unstable system. Hence, a design methodology for a digital VSCS is necessary
