Abstract :
In this paper, we present Forward-Backward Time-Stepping (FBTS) technique to determine the presence and location of malignant tumours in the breast model. We demonstrate 2-D FBTS technique utilizing the numerical breast model in a free space instead of immersed in coupling liquid. Numerical simulation results show the FBTS algorithm has the potential to provide useful quantitative information of the breast´s internal composition.
