Abstract :
Like most of available industrial systems, power system does not have constant parameters; thus changes with time. Hence, when studying a power system dynamically, time invariant system behaviour could not be assumed. Therefore, for stabilization of the output voltage at the terminals of a generator, an advanced dynamic control system is required. In this paper, the use of self-tuning regulators for controlling the generator´s voltage and improving dynamic performance of the system is suggested. This method, in which control laws are obtained by assigning system poles, is based on continuous identification of the variables of the system state.
