Abstract :
We present a matching algorithm to determine the orientation of an aircraft from its 2-D image sequence. Our method is based on simulated annealing and the downhill simplex method. The simulated annealing method is used to acquire the initial attitude for the first two frames, and the downhill simplex is used to track the attitude for the subsequent frames. The obtained attitude parameters may be used to estimate the acceleration of the maneuvering aircraft
