Abstract :
This paper presented an integration of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and Photovoltaic (PV) as hybrid system to utility grid. PV system is connected to grid via a DC-DC boost converter and three-phase three-level voltage source converter (VSC). The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is implemented in the boost converter using incremental conductance+ integral regulator technique. Wind turbines use a DFIG consisting of a wound rotor induction generator and an AC/DC/AC IGBT-based PWM converter. In this paper, analysis has been carried out for hybrid system and considering the PV and wind separately also. Simulation analysis with THD measurement of the three cases has been carried out in MATLAB environment viz. Case1: PV array system connected to grid, case2: wind energy system connected to same grid, case3: integration of PV system & wind as hybrid source to the grid.
